Just enjoying the weather...

Thought i would let you in on what my family will be up to this long weekend.....

I joined the Gym....eekkk!

I realize that i have been MIA lately. I don't have too many excuses except that i have been pretty busy. I have been spending more time than i ever thought i would at the YMCA. Yep i did it, i joined the Gym, deep breath......Actually it's going quite well and i feel a little better about myself already. I have only been going for a week and a half but i have high hopes that this is the time i drop some weight!

I joined with one of my favorite gals and it's so much more fun to workout with a friend....and it's so nice to talk without little voices interrupting us every 2 seconds....i think we are both quite enjoying it.

I will be back tomorrow with a project that i have been working on and it's almost finished!

"Happy" Passed On...

I feel so honored, M.O.T.B gave me this wonderful award!! Happy 101, boy i have had my dose of happiness these last few years and this is a great time to tell you all why and then pass it on.....

So here it goes:

10 things that make ME happy.....

1. My boys...

This has to be #1 because they are my heart and soul. All my boys, the hubster included, are so special to me and i would be nowhere with out them. Although some days i want to grab the first little girl i see and take them on a shopping spree, i am thankful for the boys in my life and i just look forward to taking their future wives and hopefully daughters shopping in the future!

2. Quality time with my husband...

Although it doesn't happen all that often i try to soak up every second of our date nights. I love getting to talk without being interrupted and not having to change diapers for the night:)

3. The Movies...

This kindof goes along with #2 because on our date nights we almost always head for the movie theater. I love a good movie and the ability it has to take you into another world if even just for a couple of hours, it's exhilarating.

4. Nature...

It can be very inspiring. I loved my summers spent working in West Yellowstone more than any summers i can remember. Being charged by a mother moose was one of the most frightening yet awesome experiences of my life. Then about 8 or years later while 4-wheeling we happened upon another mother moose and her two babies, i sat there for about 30 minutes just watching them, it was beautiful.

5. A good hair day...

Really what can make you feel better than when your hair is having a kick A** day. Side note: I have done hair for about 15 years now so i try to make every day a good hair day and when it isn't i take it pretty personal;)

6.Crafting...

I love creating things for my home and to give to others. This is the main reason why i love the blogging world so much, i get so many great ideas from all the talented ladies in blogland.

7. Traveling...

I absolutely love to travel. I love the airport, i love hotels, i love it all. I was the youngest of 4 kids and my parents took me on a lot of fun trips, i would say they spoiled me and gave me the traveling bug. It's just too bad i can't give that bug to the hubster, hopefully someday;)

8. The weekends...

I live for the weekends! Me and the boys can't wait for time with their dad. He is a very hard worker and we love to have time to spend with him whenever we can. I usually have a bunch of errands to run but he carts me and the boys around with little complaints. We also eat out and i love no cooking and dishes. I also love attending our church on Sunday mornings and the fact that my husband loves it as much as i do.

9. My friends...

I always look forward to a girls night out. I have made some great friends here in Kansas and i am very grateful for that. I do however miss my Utah friends like crazy. I hope they know how much i miss them and that they made me who i am today and i am grateful to them for that.

10. Planning, almost anything...it's all in the details...

I am a planner by nature. I love to plan parties. It's a thrill for me to make the perfect party favor or to make the perfect invitation. I go into planning mode and get very OCD about finding the perfect accessories for whatever the occasion.
I really have so much in my life to be HAPPY about and i am glad that i got this opportunity to share it with you. Now go think about what makes YOU HAPPY!

One of my best friends since High School and one of the best mom's ever. She juggles it all and does a great job at it. Her kiddo's are adorable and she always has a funny story to share.

I love this blog and all the wonderful idea's for keeping your relationship fresh and new. She always has great downloads and fun, fun, fun ways to spice up that love life.

Thanks again to Mom of Two Boys for making me feel super loved today. I am new here in the blogger world but there are so many great ladies that inspire and encourage me.

T.G.I.F.

Sorry guys, this week has been nuts at this house and i have not been managing my time very well. Between cake decorating classes, T-Ball practices, chasing the crazier than ever almost 2yr old, the 5 year old that thinks he can do whatever he wants and then all the house hold duties i have just been a bit on edge this week. I really need to focus on chilling out a little more. I am a major worry wart and a bit of a control freak so a very busy week tends to frazzle me a little. I need to remind myself to just stop, breathe, and let what happens happen.
Do any of you have weeks like that? Are any of you a control freak like me? I may not be posting everyday anymore, i will try but if i don't please know that i still love you all and am hopefully working on a fun project to show you soon. Sorry for my ramblings but it's just been one of those weeks. OK i am now going to take a chill pill and hopefully have a wonderful relaxing weekend, hope you all do the same:)

Today is my birthday, yay for me. I am 33 years young and i am pretty sure that this is going to be a great year in my life. Since it is my birthday i thought today i would fill this post will pictures of things i love......
These are in no particular order but are all things that make me smile.

I love getting pedicures, especially with a great friend!

I love Hawaii more than almost any place on earth. It is so beautiful and just gives me such a feeling of relaxation when i am there. My best vacations in my life have been on the islands of Hawaii.

While i haven't had many in my life i have a new found love of great massages. There is nothing better than relaxing and letting the stress melt away.

Anyone who knows me knows that i have a purse/bag addiction. I love a great bag and have a whole closet full. I wish i had that yellow one in the back in this picture, so fun and would look great on my arm while shopping in Hawaii:)

O R E O! Yes this is a dirty little pleasure of mine. I don't know why they have to make such delicious little cookies, that are so fattening and that call to me at all hours of the day. I don't eat them often but when i do i enjoy every minute of it. Double stuff all the way!

And last but definitely not least are my boys. They make me smile on a daily basis. I am so grateful to have these three handsome guys in my life. They are everything to me and i know they love me for exactly who i am.

Hello blogger world

Ok, Ok, enough putting this off because i don't think i have a "cool" enough name for this blog. I need to just accept that this blog is in fact appropriately named because i am indeed "Far from Super Mom." I am not in any way ashamed of that and i find myself to be pretty normal for the most part. I know a few women that i would consider "Super Moms" but I'm sure they each have their own flaws and for goodness sakes i would hope they would otherwise they probably wouldn't be much fun to be around.
Just to let you into the world of me i will let you in on a few other names this blog could go by.......

Hopefully you can gain a bit more understanding of who FFSM (Far from Super Mom, stay with me people) really is. I'm not too exciting but you can blame my father for that, we are two of a kind.
I wanted to start a blog of my own to start my new years right and try to find myself again. I love being a wife, a mother of two great little boys, a mom to two dogs and food buyer for one large green toad. I don't however love the fact that i have lost who i really am in the midst of all of the above.
I am really trying to focus more on myself this year and hopefully for all the years that follow. I have recently (two days ago) started walking on the treadmill that has been accumulating dust for the past many, many years in the basement. I really want to be a skinny bitch, OK maybe not skinny, although that would be great but i would settle for a healthy semi-bitch.
I plan to do posts about things that bug me, things that i love, things that i am passionate about, things i know, things i wish i knew and so on and so on. I so love to blog and find new blogs that i can't wait to check everyday. Hopefully my blog will be more than a snooze fest for you all and i do have a few ideas up my sleeve.
Try not to mind the unprofessional look of said blog. I will see how much interest i get here, and i know i will get a lot, right?! If i soar to the top in the blogger world, ha, ha, i will probably break down and get a blog make-over but for now this is me, plain and simple, take it or leave it......take it please!!
